Abstract:

Good germplasm provides the option for high yields and reduces losses from stresses, but it is appropriate crop and natural resource management that closes the gap between actual and attainable yields.

In the past 10 years, I had been working with colleagues at IRRI and in the national systems to develop the knowledge and tools for such crop management in rainfed lowland systems, and the presentation will show some examples of the results we achieved.
