Abstract:
After almost 4 years, I will be handing over the reins to James Quilty. In this seminar, we will review the last 3.9 years we’ve had at ES. This review will feature successes, half-successes, successes clutched from the jaws of failure, and failure clutched from the jaws of success. We will touch on developments with respect to people, infrastructure, equipment, services, finances, and administration, and will list some unfinished business that remains. Finally, we will unveil three white elephants that will have my name stenciled on them... Can you guess what they are?
For those who’ll be struggling to stay awake, we will be treated to some ol'-timey wisdom from my favourite movie, and there will be a special surprise at the end for those who make it.
